Kathy Slayter became licensed as a Realtor in 1980 in Santa Barbara, CA. She became a broker in CA in 1986 and in 1992 when she moved to Greenville she became a SC. Broker. With a background in new home sales, construction and development work, she was naturally attracted to The Marchant Company, which was founded by Seabrook Marchant in 1994. She joined the company in 1994 and developed into the company?s top sales agent where she has remained through 2005. Kathy currently represents several developments from the company?s downtown Greenville office. Over the recent past Kathy?s expertise has been working with developers that owned apartments and desired to convert them to condos or townhomes for sale. Between 2004 and September of 2006 Kathy completed the sell out of three such projects to include a total of 250 units. Working directly with lenders, appraisers, designers and advertisers she was able to craft marketing that promptly got the job done! Kathy also works with developers on subdivision sales of land and new homes.

Kathy remains involved with the Greater Greenville Association of Realtors, receiving the distinguished honor of ?2003 Residential Realtor of the Year?. She has served as the GGAR Community Service Committee Chair, directing its annual Willow Creek 5K Walk/run to benefit the GGAR Susan Scott Lynch scholarship program for 4 years. She began a 3 year term on GGAR?s Board of Directors in 2004 and served two years on the State Association?s Affordable Housing Committee. In additional she chaired the Community Service Task force for the local Realtor ?Poinsettia Award? in 2003, 2004. Kathy?s passion for running showed in her involvement with the Greenville Track Club where she served four years on its Board of Directors, and directed the Greenville News Run Downtown for the club for 3 years. The year she ran the Paris Mountain Road Race (a 13 mile road race that tops the mountain) she ranked 13th in the state for her age group in that distance. She was the SC Road Runners Club of America chapter?s ?Outstanding Volunteer? in 2002. She has run 5 marathons and devoted several years to ?Team Diabetes?, a marathon-training program that raised thousands of dollars for The American Diabetes Association. Now she enjoys running occasionally. Kathy has taught fitness at the local YMCA for 14 years, including pilates, and enjoys water sports, including kayaking and boating, gardening and travel.
Kathy remains a dedicated Realtor, offering over 25 years of personal experience in the real estate profession. In 2005 she obtained her GRI designation, in 2006 her e-Pro designation and completed her requirements for her CRS designation, a designation only the top 20% of Realtors nationwide obtain.
